Show jumping
Riders from the yard travel to local shows through the summer, from cross-poles up.
Needs pro shootChildren’s parties, hen parties, corporate days and the barbecue afterwards. Every one of them is priced on numbers, ages and food, so there is no price list here. Tell us what you have in mind and we will send one back.
All four run on the same yard, with the same horses and the same instructors. What changes is who rides, for how long, and what is waiting when they get off.
From age 4Needs pro shootRiding, grooming, a rosette each, and somewhere dry to eat the cake. Two hours at the yard, with the birthday child up first.
Adults · walk onlyNeeds pro shootAn hour on the mountain with the whole of Dublin Bay behind you, led the whole way. It is a view and a photograph, not a gallop.
Teams and away daysNeeds pro shootSplit the group between the arena and the forest, swap them over, finish in the yard. It works for a team that has never ridden, because nobody has to trot to enjoy it.
After the ridingNeeds pro shootRide first, eat afterwards, with thirty heads over the stable doors behind you. Families, clubs, and the end of a long team day.
There is no price list for a group here, because there is no such thing as an average group. Six four-year-olds and fourteen adults are two different days on the same yard. Send one message with the numbers, the ages and the date you are thinking of, and we will send back a price and the shape of the afternoon.
We reply within one working day. Nothing is held in the diary until you say yes, and nothing is paid until it is.
This is the usual shape. With six four-year-olds it runs slower; with twelve ten-year-olds it runs in three groups. We send you the plan for your own afternoon once we know the numbers.

Needs pro shoot
Needs pro shootA hen party often arrives expecting a gallop along a beach. We would rather say now what the hour really is, because the groups who book it knowing that are the ones who love it.
Needs pro shootAn hour out the back gate and up through 3,000 acres of forest, to the point where the bay opens up. Private to your group, led the whole way, on whichever horses suit the riders you bring.
Every walkout is private, at walking pace, on a lead rein — always. No trotting, no cantering, whatever your experience.
Because at walking pace everybody can look up. The nervous one in the group has a good morning, the one who rode as a teenager gets her hour back, and everyone goes home with photographs nobody else will have.
Half a day or a full one, Wed – Sun, 9 am – 6 pm. We quote on numbers and on how long you want the group here.
Needs pro shootThe reason a yard works for a team is that it flattens everybody. Nobody is senior to a horse. We split the group between the covered arena and the forest trail, swap them at the halfway point, and you all end up back in the yard at the same time with something to talk about that is not work.
It suits a team where nobody has ridden, because none of it needs skill — the walkout is led at a walk and the arena session starts at the mounting block. If someone would rather not sit on a horse at all, there is a yard, a tack shop and thirty palominos to be shown around instead.
These are not booked from the website. They are for riders who ride here week in, week out — start with a lesson and ask your instructor what is coming up.

Needs pro shootOut of the arena and across country, over solid fences, once the balance is there for it.
Needs pro shootA course of natural fences against the clock — the step up from a show for most riders here.
Needs pro shootRallies, camps and tests, for the children who ride here every week of the year.
Needs pro shootWhen the summer allows it, the horses go to the sand. It is the outing everyone asks about first.
Tell us the head count first. It decides how many instructors are on and how many ponies come in — up to 12 at a party, 8 at a time out on the trail.
From age 4 for a party, 5 for a lesson, 3 for Pony Play. Mixed ages are normal — we split the group and rotate it.
The arena is covered, so a party goes ahead in the rain. Walkouts go out in ordinary Irish weather. Long trousers and a rain jacket.
There is somewhere dry to eat. A barbecue is by arrangement, and so is arriving with your own cake, sandwiches and bunting.
Free parking at the yard and room for a horsebox. Please arrive 15 minutes early so hats and boots can be fitted.
How many, what ages, when you are thinking of, and whether you want food. We reply within one working day.
